THE WATERCOLOURS

Watercolor or watercolour, also aquarelle, is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-based solution. Watercolor refers to both the medium and the resulting artwork. Aquarelles painted with water-soluble colored ink instead of modern water colors are called aquarellum atramento by experts

NOW THIS IS WHAT THE WEB SAYS, BUT IN  GENERAL

WATERCOLOUR ARE THE PAINTS THAT WORK THE BEST WITH WATER. SIMPLE AND SWEET .YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND TO CONTROL THE WATER, CREATE DIFFERENT TEXTURES FOR YOUR FINAL PAINTING TO LOOK LIKE THIS:

OR LIKE THIS

THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF WATERCOLOURS IN THE MARKET LIKE
  • BRUSTRO
  • CANSON
  • WINSOR AND NEWTON COTMAN
  • LUKAS
  • RAPHAEL AQUARELLE
etc.

But as a beginner you must practice with simpler watercolours like cakes, kids watercolours, then you will get used to it without wasting your any money.

watercolours are available in the following types:

Tube watercolours are by far the most commonly used form of watercolour paint. They come in soft, squeezable tubes and are offered in a wide range of colours. To use tube watercolours, squeeze a small amount onto a palette or mixing surface, and dilute it with water to achieve the desired transparency.
ideal for controlled brushwork, detailed paintings, and achieving intense colours

Pan watercolours, also known as cake watercolours, come in solid form and are housed in individual compartments within a palette. They are activated by adding water with a brush. Pan watercolours are perfect for artists on the go due to their portability.
great for quick sketches, plein air painting, and creating washes

watercolor pigments come pre-mixed, saving you the hassle of mixing them with water. They are highly pigmented and offer intense colours. Liquid watercolours are versatile and can be used for both fine art and crafts.
suitable for large-scale paintings, washes, and backgrounds. Liquid watercolours can also be used in mixed media art, calligraphy, and creating unique effects like drips and spatters.

Watercolour pencils and crayons are solid forms of watercolour paint that allow for precise control and detailing. They resemble regular coloured pencils or crayons but are water-soluble.
o use watercolour pencils or crayons, draw directly onto the paper, and then use a wet brush to blend and spread the colours. This technique enables artists to achieve fine lines, intricate details, and vibrant effects.

THE PAPER

PAPER is a really important component cause it controls the way your watercolors look when used. I will suggest canson montval and arches for smoother and nice grip over your paintings. use 300 g/m2 papers as they soak in a good amount of color and give you smooth texture. a common office paper cannot hold as much as amount of water need for watercolours.

THE BRUSHES

The main types of watercolor brushes used across all skill sets include round, flat, filbert, liner, and mop brushes

and always remember

IT IS THE ART, AND THE HEART OF THE PERSON WHO'S MAKING MATTER, THAN FANCY ART SUPPLIES.
